no idea. did not hear much in Amsterdam but had to miss a day. don’t think emina heard anything or she would have told me.

Any updates about hair multiplication from Intercytex and Aderans? I know they were both in Phase III clinical trials.

  3. samlammd says:

perhaps you are right about that. you can still get a transplant if you have enough donor hair.
    best,
    sml

When I was a young man in the 70′s they said “we are only 5 years away from a cure for baldness”….. now 2009 they are still far away…… My guess is there is too much money in baldness to cure it. Don’t count on a cure either live with it shave it or wear a wig…

  5. KarthikSoun says:

who did u disagree with?! becoz i never said anything abt wat ur saying! i dont even get hw it is related!

  6. realistromeo says:

i tend to dissagree, if looks were important in getting great jobs why are the richest people mostly look like bill gates? money gets women.. it’s all mindset, sure i’d like to keep my hair and never get old..sure you want to maintain that…btw i have seen many junkies on the street with full heads of hair? no money and smelling like feces, i envy their hair but not their “easier life”

  7. worthlessdollar1 says:

“I think the only way which would be “MORALLY” wrong is to clone yourself, and eliminate the clone and take the hair.”

^^ lol – I never thought of that one.

But why would you need to “eliminate” the clone? Wouldn’t taking his hair be bad enough, without killing him too? lol

  8. KarthikSoun says:

what does hunting for food have to do with baldness!!!!!!!! Find cure for Cancer and Aids Mr.Techno man… and leave the bald people alone, Baldness is not a disease, ru able even get that!!! Baldness is a cultural issue that stigmatizes bald ppl.. the same culture that stigmatized Black people as ugly and women as inferior!!! Bald is ugly and needs attention only if testicles r wrong and haveing hair gives u a right to be called good looking..! do even get wat i mean..

  9. davedaddy101 says:

No KarthikSoun!! If everyone thought like you, we would still be hunting for our food, and riding around on Donkeys. We must move forward with technology! Appearance is very important, and don’t kid yourself. Men with hair have much easier lives than men without. They get 1st pick at the better quality women, they get better jobs, and are much more confident in general. Hair is super important.

  10. KarthikSoun says:

wouldnt it be cheaper to reverse the negative mind set against baldness than find a cure!! if ppl can be conveinced of an invisible man like god to be true, then we can be told bald is sexy..! just dont bother us so much..

  11. dean05876 says:

Fair point :) But I was thinking along the lines of a cure that passes through DNA. But yeah I agree with you

  12. thenigotoffthebus says:

In this case greed is good. There is a hell of a lot more money to be made from a baldness cure than to be made from current treatments which are far from perfect. Most bald guys know this so don’t bother spending the money on treatments, but many, many would on an actual cure. Then there are always new bald guys growing up…a never ending BIG revenue stream is what awaits the person or organisation that cures baldness.

for my blog you have to search for propecia and cancer

  14. samlammd says:

the 2008 studies on propecia actually have shown to LOWER the chance of prostate cancer. read my blog on hairtx

  15. samlammd says:

minoxidil is intended to decrease blood pressure when taken as a pill not really the heart. i would not take it during pregnancy. it is now over the counter.

  16. CLiDED says:

minoxidil speeds up the heart rate (as it was designed to do); Irregulate heart beat, it is very potent and can hurt an unborn child. It is, however, safer than propecia.

finasteride (propecia) is known to increase cancer, shrink the male genitalia, promote impotence, etc. Check out the website PropeciaSideEffects (google it), theres a class action lawsuit against Merck regarding lingering side effects after discontinuing the use of the drug. It is WAY too early to say that Finasteride is safe.

  17. samlammd says:

dangerous? how so? they are very effective and safe in my opinion.

  18. kc4ril says:

I’m currently using both, and to be honest I have trouble know if it makes any difference, do you really think it helps much, or is it just an expensive placebo and the jokes on me???

  19. CLiDED says:

    because these drugs are dangerous?

  20. dean05876 says:

I’m not sure that scientists are too bothered about curing hair loss tbh. There’s nothing wrong with losing ur hair. I used to be afraid, I still have more or less a full head of hair. Why woul they want to cure it, or cure anything, if they can make money just treating it? Greed my friends, is the answer to why nothing gets done.

  21. conimahoni says:

in 2010 stem cell tech will be out

  22. samlammd says:

start propecia and rogaine now. why wait years when you can slow it down now with good meds that are fda approved?

  23. adammazdarx7 says:

Cool I think I am going bald a little in the front and this will be a great breakthrough, I hope it comes soon and it isnt that expensive.

  24. samlammd says:

    hey, that’s animal cruelty!…just kidding.

  25. realistromeo says:

I think the only way wich would be “MORALY” wrong is to clone yourself, and eliminate the clone and take the hair.

I’d be all in for rat that grew my hair and then pluck the hair off the rat and put it on my head.. :)
